Sample network plan
An example layout for a small data center. Addresses are illustrative and we adapt them to each site.

|---|---|---|---|
| Management | 10 | 10.10.10.0/24 | Switch, firewall, UPS and PDU admin access |
| Servers | 20 | 10.10.20.0/24 | Odoo, database and application servers |
| Staff LAN | 30 | 10.10.30.0/24 | Office computers and printers |
| Guest Wi-Fi | 40 | 10.10.40.0/24 | Visitors, internet only |
| DMZ | 50 | 10.10.50.0/24 | Public-facing services behind the firewall |
| Storage and backup | 60 | 10.10.60.0/24 | NAS and backup traffic |
Settings we follow
Segment the network with VLANs so a problem in one zone cannot reach another.
Default deny on the firewall, then allow only the ports and services each zone needs.
Remove single points of failure: two internet links, paired switches and redundant power where the budget allows.
Protect power: UPS sized for the load and a PDU with per-outlet monitoring.
Back up and test restores: keep copies on the NAS and off site.
Document everything: label cables and ports, and keep an up-to-date diagram and IP list.
